The 2025 President is once again Ken Pense. Ken has been involved in the CMCFL since we were the CMFL, Ken has played in almost every club in the league throughout his amazing football career. He was the recipient of the JJ Lussick Medal in 1982 when he played for Watheroo. Following on from playing, Ken has also coached for many years, and still umpires in the league today. Ken brings an amazing amount of knowledge to the table and we are very pleased to have him involved.
Our 2025 Vice President is Campbell Hurst. Campbell has been on the board of the CMCFL for a few years now and has been an incredible asset to our team. Campbell currently still plays for the league side at the Dandaragan Football Club, so has a very astute knowledge of the operations and issues that face our league at ground level. Campbell brings a very thoughtful process of problem solving to the league which is very much appreciated.
In the role of Director again for the 2025 season is Mat Helms. Mat is also currently a playing member of the Dandaragan Football Club. Mat has played his entire career at Dandaragan, has been the recipient of the JJ Lussick Medal 3 times in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Mat has also been involved in coaching at club level and has several time coached our league side at Country Week. Mat has again volunteered himself as coach on the 2024 CMCFL Country Champs Squad. Mat bring an impressive knowledge of our game day and operations to the board.
We welcome Brad Waters to the CMCFL board in the 2025 season.
Brad is currently a player for the Jurien Bay Football Club, having grown up in the town. Brad is particularly interested in ensuring the longevity and sustainability of the competition by working closely with the clubs and communities to identify areas for improvement. Brad is also interested in ensuring the CMCFL is equitable in its decision making and any investigations by the league are transparent and underpinned by strong governance.
As the Executive Manager of Corporate and Community Services at the Shire of Dandaragan, my team works closely with clubs in our Shire and DLGSC to ensure our clubs are well supported and set up for success. I look forward to sharing this knowledge and leveraging existing relationships to support the league.
I am happy to commit to supporting the various events the CMCFL hosts to strengthen our league.
We also welcome Matt Thornton to our board for the 2025 season, for a 2 year term.
Matt wants to see country footy strive to be the best it can be, From Nippers all the way to seniors. Its not just about doing what’s best for your club its what best for football in General. We still have a long way to go to get to the mark, But what I have seen we are heading in the right path. We all need to continue to work together as clubs. As that’s the only way we can all get on the same level and understand the best way forward for football and the CMCFL.

Mr Norm McPherson has been voted in as our Patron again for the 2025 season. Norm has volunteered a huge amount of time into our league over the years, first as a player involved in the Moora Rovers FC, playing in several Country Championship sides, and then taking on the role of President on the CMCFL for 7 years, and then following on an taking on the role of patron in 2019. Norm has an incredible amount of knowledge of our league, football and our communities and continues to be an incredible asset to our league.
Rayelene Wright has once again stepped back into the role of Operations Manager for the 2024 season. Rayelene started her journey with the CMCFL Junior Council in 2008, taking on the role of secretary and continuing in that role right up to 2015 when the decision was made to bring the junior football back under the CMCFL board. Rayelene took on the Secretary/Registrar role in 2014 and has an incredible knowledge of football and the rules in place. With the introduction of netball and hockey, Rayelene has been required to upskill her knowledge to include both sports and to manage our league in the day to day operations.
